Maruti Hints at Upcoming CNG Model with Dual Tanks – A Rival to Tata ?

Maruti Suzuki has the most CNG cars right now. These cars use a special S-CNG system from the factory. This system focuses on making the cars perform well, safe to use, easy to drive, fuel-efficient, and long-lasting. Maruti plans to add some new features to this system soon.

One common problem with CNG cars is that they often don’t have much space in the trunk because the CNG tank and other parts take up a lot of room. Last year, Tata fixed this issue by putting two smaller tanks in the Altroz instead of one big tank. Now, Tata’s Tiago, Tigor, and Punch also have this setup. It’s great because it frees up more space for storing things.

Now, Maruti Suzuki seems to be following suit by adding two tanks to its S-CNG system. They already use a similar setup in their small trucks. These tanks are placed under the vehicle and each can hold 35 liters of CNG. Maruti might use smaller tanks, about 25-30 liters each, for their cars. This change means the spare tire will go under the trunk.

Maruti’s S-CNG cars include Alto K10, WagonR, Dzire, Celerio, Eeco, S-Presso, Fronx, Ertiga, Brezza, and Grand Vitara. The new Swift will also offer a CNG option soon.

Maruti might also add some new features to their CNG cars. Tata Motors and Hyundai are adding more features to their CNG cars, so Maruti wants to stay competitive. Maruti’s S-CNG system already has many benefits compared to third-party CNG kits. It’s good for performance, reliability, and safety. Maruti tweaks the suspension and brakes to make sure their CNG cars work well on different roads.

Safety is a big priority too. Maruti’s CNG setup has special features to prevent problems like short circuits and leaks. There’s a switch to stop the car from starting while refueling. Maruti tests their CNG cars to make sure they’re strong and durable in accidents.

Maruti’s CNG cars also have some convenient features. There’s a switch to easily switch between CNG and petrol, a gauge to show how much CNG is left, and a faster and safer way to refill CNG. Plus, Maruti offers a good warranty for their CNG cars, which can be extended for up to 5 years.
